I used the movie "The Secret Garden," as the inspiration for this design. I love the movie as a kid, and it what lead me down my path to learning about the different aspects and remedies of plants, flowers and herbs. The Lurie Garden is apart of Chicago Millenium Park district located within the Loop. No matter, what time of year, you can constantly see kids marching through it, be it with parents, or a school outing. It a great place for learning, but still allow children to burn off the excess energy that can't be express by sitting in a chair.
I chose a simple design and illustration, with a fun colour palette to pull the children eyes and intrigue into it. I also tried to make the words simple, there are many different kinds of "lilies," but trying to get a child to say the original name would be difficult, especially depending on their grade level, speech patterns, and current level of education.
